Yesterday I had the great pleasure of being the keynote speaker at a huge Taekwondo organisation. I was also given the even bigger honour of watching 6 of the students take black belt grade ins.
They have trained for years for this moment.
And yesterday summed up their journey.
Sweat.....
Blood......
Tears......
One even had their head in the sick bucket (!!!)
But they carried on, and did not quit!
And it got me thinking.....
In a world of instant gratification, impatience, where we want things NOW!
Martial Arts is such a phenomenal journey for life that we can all learn from:
Because you can't buy a black belt.
You can't get one quickly.
Likes or followers on your social media won't help you on the mat or in the dojo.
Even if you could, would you really want to?
As I've already mentioned - it takes years of dedication to your craft to achieve a black belt.
And that is what makes it taste so sweet, when you eventually gain the prize.
So today....
Set yourself some goals.
Just get started.
Take it day by day.
It will take sacrifice.....
It will be tough.........
It will hurt.........
It will take patience......
But it will be worth it.
Happy Monday guys.
