"Motivation Is Disloyal"
Is one of my favourite sayings.
Because motivation comes and goes, often in a heartbeat.
Therefore if you're relying on motivation to "get going" or achieve anything in your life......
Then you really are leaving it to
chance.
(Read that again).
And that my
friends, is a roll of the dice that I'm not prepared to bet on.
Instead you must acquire 2 key tools into your toolbox, that you can call on when required.
1 - A higher purpose.
You must be doing whatever you are doing (anything) for a purpose that is more important than you are, and fix it in your mindset.
- You must be in your job to make a difference to your customers, to improve their lives, to provide a solution, to help people and so on. It's a shift of mindset that we can all achieve.
- You must be setting an example to your kids with your health, well-being and waistline.
**Brutal truth - your kids will learn more
from what you show them, rather than what you tell them.
2 - You must learn to suffer.
Nothing great, comes from walking the easy path.
- Doing my taxes is boring, but it saves me money.
- Doing burpees hurts like f**k, but it stops me from being overweight.
Like everything.....
These things take practise, and often learning from failure.......
Then going again.
So today,
Rather than needing to be "motivated".
Fix your mind on your purpose......
Accept that sometimes these things hurt.
And get off your @rse and get it done.
Attack the week.
