For many of us, time is not really our friend when it comes to our body.
We perhaps don’t look, move, or even feel as good as we once did.
And is it any wonder when we look at our activity levels?
When surveyed, only 2% of people take the stairs, unless they really have to.
Many of us spend more than 6 hours per day sitting down, despite research showing that low levels of physical activity have a 71%
increase in mortality rate.
Inactivity is shown to:-
Increase risk of colon cancer by 24%.
Increase risk of endometrial cancer by 66%.
Increase risk of lung cancer by 21%.
Excess watching of the TV showed a 54% higher risk of chronic illness.
Shocking right?
And I could go on.
Add cardiovascular disease, diabetes, alzheimer’s, depression and more into the mix, and it paints a scary
picture.
Now I’m not here to spoil your Monday and lower your mood.
But the facts are the facts.
And physical activity is a choice.
And it’s a habit that many of us are still not dialled into each and every day.
So I’m here today to tell you to get off your @rse!!
Get the 10,000 steps in each day (do your work calls at the same time if you have
to!).
Stretch and move your body to keep it mobile, flexible and agile.
Go and punch something (a punch bag not a human please ha!).
Lift and carry things to keep your body strong, safe and looking firm and feeling
great.
Move your body and get a daily sweat on, each and every
day.
You don’t always have to enjoy the process of exercise. But you should do it every single day as a non-negotiable
habit.
Because it’s good for you.
I promise you that your mind, your body, and your health will thank you for it.
As I said last week “where focus goes, energy
flows”.
Focus on the outcome, and get it done.
As always, attack the week.
