Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day.
Glorious sunshine, even here in my home city of Manchester!!
I paid my respects for remembrance Sunday, then dusted my bike off and went for a bike ride to my local water park to make the most of the day.
Did you get up to anything?
Did you manage to get some fresh air and sunlight to your face?
Because as much as I love the run up to Christmas.
The cold evenings, wrapped up in coats and hats (gotta keep this bald head insulated!!).
The mulled wine, and
maybe even a mince pie or three.
For many of us, the shorter days and lack of sunlight can really affect our mood.
Therefore, it’s crucial you get outside as often as you can, and make the most of days when the sun is shining.
That’s because Vitamin D is super important, both for our physical and mental health and offers a tonne of benefits including: -
- It can strengthen your teeth and bones.
- It helps support your immune system.
- Helps
to fight against chronic illness.
- Supports brain function.
- Has been shown to reduce arthritis.
- It has been shown to potentially reduce risk of type 2 diabetes.
- It can
help reduce the risk of heart disease.
- Lowers blood pressure.
- It may play a role in your weight loss.
- Supports and lifts your mood.
Now I’m certainly not a doctor.
And I’m not here to prescribe you anything.
But I’m pretty certain that Vitamin D is really really good for you.
So today I’m urging you to find a way to boost your levels.
Your physical and mental health will thank you for it.
Remember that especially in winter – you may not want to stay active, and you may not want to get outside.
BUT YOU 100% MUST.
Short term pain = long term pleasure!
Attack the week.
