The constant grinding, work non-stop, hustle culture is
bullsh*t.
Pure and simple.
Overdoing it, especially at work, is sometimes worn like a badge of honour.
I’m here today to tell you that non-stop work will only lead you to one thing -
burnout.
Whether you like it or not, overworking is not good for your physical or mental health.
It also produces low performance, and low results.
(Read that again).
The quarterly
holiday was the mechanism used to stave it off.
But that is no longer enough.
The once per week gym class is also not enough.
It’s ok to work hard and make sacrifices occasionally.
But there must be balance.
Just like there is a plan to get stuff done at
work.
There must also be a plan for yourself.
To prioritise
yourself both physically and mentally to ensure your health is where it should be.
That plan must be a code that you live by.
Each and every day.
You must be disciplined.
Work hard when it’s time to work.
Rest and recharge when it’s not.
In the modern digital world of accessibility, it’s ok to not reply straight away.
It’s ok to have hobbies, have a life, and not be answering messages or emails 24/7.
Now of course each week, I tell you to “attack the week”.
And it’s great to set goals, and get them smashed.
But remember not to smash yourself up in the process.
Have a great week.
