As the old saying goes…..
“Fail to prepare, prepare to fail”.
This was so true on our MAPPS group walk to Snowdon on Saturday.
Weather report – 20 degrees with sun and a tiny bit of cloud.
Actual weather – freezing cold, low visibility, gale force winds and heavy rain into your face!!
This
lasted for the whole walk (6 hours), and you can take a look here at just how bad it was!
Now we were ok.
Because we had the correct kit, and
we had prepared for all eventualities.
And as another saying goes…..
There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad kit.
The reason we packed the winter weather kit, the spare dry clothes and much more (despite it being so sunny at the start).
Was because we had been caught out previously by changing bad weather and had to turn back.
And we had learned, gained experience and grown from that.
Therefore, the weather at the weekend on Snowden acted as a timely reminder that…..
“There is no such thing as failure, it’s always
feedback”.
So, in any situation, or any tough time.
There is always a reframe.
There is
always a lesson.
And there is always learning that you can use in your future.
As long as you keep open minded.
And seek those lessons out.
Attack the week!
