Happy Monday guys.
So, this morning I asked Chat GPT for 3 ways to develop mental toughness.
I know the answers (I think!), but I wanted to see if it was going to give me what I thought it would.
And "as sure as eggs is eggs" (as my granny used to say)……
It told me to set goals and break them down into smaller steps.
It told me to practice positive
self-talk.
It told me to keep practising.
To
embrace discomfort.
All of which are of course valid, and I think are things that all of us are pretty aware of?
But you know what wasn’t mentioned?
What wasn’t taken into account?
That you my dear friend – ARE A HUMAN BEING.
You are not perfect, and that’s ok.
You are going to have ups and downs, highs and lows, and that’s ok.
You are going to win, but also fail,
and that’s ok.
And every now and then, you are going to get things wrong, which again is absolutely ok.
So, for today.
When working hard on yourself.
Whether that’s in your career, your physical fitness, your mental toughness, or anything else.
Remember to be kind to you.
Embrace your vulnerability.
Be nice to yourself.
It’s ok to be uniquely you.
And leaning into all of this.
Is what will truly make you mentally tough.
