If I’m honest I had no real interest in the ‘Battle Of The Baddest’ fight this weekend between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou.
I didn’t really see the point of it.
I also thought that it was going to be and should have been an easy victory for Fury.
Wow how I was wrong.
But I’m not here today to give you my opinions on combat
sport.
Instead, and as always, I’m looking for the lessons from the fight that we can all take, to be the best version of ourselves.
And for me there are 2 key take homes for us all.
1 - Never ever underestimate your opponent:
Regardless of what Fury says publicly, he was clearly undertrained and underprepared. The reasons for that only he will know. Maybe he had other stuff to take care of,
or maybe he believed this was going to be an easy task. Either way, the lesson for us is to never ever underestimate any opponent or any situation we are faced with. We must always sharpen our tools and turn up as the best version of ourselves, to give us the best chance of dealing with every situation.
2 – Sometimes, you’ve gotta say F*CK IT.
And I believe that’s what Ngannou did. He backed himself, knew he had nothing to lose,
everything to gain, he said F*CK IT, and he just went for it.
You can do the same.
One of the best ways to achieve a flow state and therefore have a greater chance of performing at your best is to simply ‘let go’ of all your worries, fears, limiting beliefs and the stories that you tell yourself that could be holding you back.
It’s a decision.
And a decision that you can make
today.
So maybe this week, say F*CK IT and go after what you want in life.
After all, what have you got to lose?!
As always - attack the week.
