Do you want to improve your performance?
In order to do so, it's not always about an extra minute in the ice bath.
It's not more steps.
It's not collecting more data on your whoop (checking it too often will cause your wearable to stress you out - the thing it's supposed to help you with).
So my questions to you are
this:
When was the last time that you stopped and did nothing?
When was the last time that you took some intentional rest (without checking your emails and messages or scrolling through your phone) ?
When was the last time that you dedicated some time to yourself to pause and take a minute?
To recharge your
batteries.
And Reset (cough, cough!).
In this crazy world of non stop emails, tasks and Whatsapp groups.
We are never switching off.
And that is going to lead us to poor mental health and a performance killer - BURNOUT.
Therefore you must take some time to slow
down.
Decompress.
Recharge your batteries and breath.
I actually completed my level 2 in the science of breathwork last week.
And whilst some might think breathwork is a bit "woo woo", the science absolutely backs the practice of intentional breathwork and the suggested benefits for your physical, mental, emotional and psychological health:-
- Reduced
stress
- Improved sleep
- Improved recovery
- Enhanced creativity
- Enhanced cognitive function
To name but a few.
So for today.
Stay productive.
Hit your numbers.
And smash your targets.
But also remember to slow down sometimes.
Rest, recover, and
breathe.
Sometimes - less is more.
