Hope you’re having a good week?
Last week I spoke to you about focus, and why chasing one rabbit and not two, is something you must do.
But here’s my follow up question:
What’s currently distracting you?
(And don’t say it’s me with these emails ha!!!)
Because
it’s not just about knowing what you should be focusing on.
It’s also about cutting the stuff that’s draining your time, energy and attention.
The constant texts, WhatsApp and Instagram memes in your D. M’s (I used to be terrible at both sending and receiving these).
Every pointless meeting – if you follow me on social media (@ricmoylan) you will see I’ve spoken about people pleasing, wasting time and how this was also a journey I was on
and then ruthlessly stopped.
Every “I’ll just do this quick pointless” task.
It all chips away at your performance.
So, with that in mind, here’s Mr Moylan’s advice for you this week:
Write down the 3 things that if you executed them, would drive you forwards right now.
In your work, your health, or your relationships.
Then look at your weekly
timetable and all your scheduled tasks.
If any of these tasks or meetings don’t help you win at those 3 things….
Cut it.
Delegate it.
Or put it on hold.
Be ruthless.
Sounds simple, but most people won’t do it.
And then they wonder why they’re busy all the time but not getting anywhere.
