I didn’t write to you all last week, breaking my commitment of getting at least one edition of the Lonely Walk Letters into your inbox each week.
I missed my slot for writing.
A work issue arose that I had to deal with.
And I was also trying to enjoy some family time away (my no 1 priority).
There was a time I would have beaten myself up
over breaking a commitment for days.
After all, I talk about standards within MAPPS.
Sticking to your personal code.
But you know what else I’ve also learned?
And it’s been one of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn whether that’s in sport, business, or life.
ACCEPTANCE.
And it’s directly led to an increase in my health, my happiness, and my
performance.
I’m not perfect (highly debatable!!).
And neither are you.
But setbacks are all part of your journey.
The key is this:
Accept the setback for what it is.
Take responsibility and own it.
Then move on.
Focus on the next task, action or thing that lines up with your standards.
And give that everything you
have.
You can’t always be 100%.
And accepting that…..
That’s not a weakness.
That’s strength.
Because acceptance isn’t weakness.
It’s clarity.
And clarity fuels your own high performance.
