Last week’s edition of The Lonely Walk Letters had a different theme.
We all know why.
I appreciate every single message I’ve received - please know I’m grateful for you, however that is now going to remain in my private affairs.
I want to get this week’s letter back on track, and that is exactly what we will do.
I’ve banged on
about discipline these last couple of weeks and months for a reason.
That’s because it’s the starting point.
Without it, nothing else matters.
You can have all the ideas, dreams, and plans you like.
Without discipline, they’re just words.
But here’s the thing: discipline isn’t the finish line.
It’s just the beginning.
The foundation.
(^^Great name eh? Have you got your free
foundation programme^^) ?
The graft that holds you up when life starts throwing curve balls that smack you without warning.
Because life doesn’t stop when you’re tired.
It doesn’t care if you’ve had a rough day.
It just tests you
anyway.
And that’s where the next step comes in:
CONTROL.
Control is keeping your head when everyone else loses theirs.
It’s not letting your emotions run the show.
It’s about being sharp under pressure.
Whether that’s in the sporting arena, in a meeting, or in your own home.
You don’t blag control.
You can’t buy it.
It must be
earned.
And it comes straight off the back of discipline.
How?
By repeating the small things until they’re automatic.
By holding your standards when nobody’s watching.
By choosing short term pain instead of short term pleasure, over and over again.
That’s how you build control.
Doing the reps.
Until staying calm even when the sh*t hits the fan is just who you
are.
Discipline is your engine.
Control is your hands on the steering wheel.
And without it, you’re completely rudderless.
See why it’s so important?
Speak soon,
Ric
P.S. This is exactly what I build with the lads inside MAPPS MASTERY.
Discipline, control, standards, that don’t break when life hits hard.
I’ve got a few free
tickets to Farmer Strong left (men only). Drop me a message on 07401 135 632 and I will sort you a place, as well as your free foundation programme.
